Gonorrhoea

Gonorrhoea is a bacterial sexually transmitted infection (STI)  and is the second most common STI in the UK and if left untreated can lead to infertility in men and women.

The test for Gonorrhoea is very simple and will either be done by a urine test or a swab test.

If you have a test for Gonorrhoea you will normally receive your results within 2 weeks of being tested. Results are normally sent to your personal mobile via text. Nothing will be sent home unless you request it.

  • If your result comes back NEGATIVE this means you DO NOT have an infection at this time.
  • If your result comes back POSITIVE, you will be contacted via your preferred method and given advice about treatment and what to do next. The treatment is FREE.
  • Advice will also be given about sexual partners and sexual activity.
  • You will be asked to attend a GUM clinic.

If you have no symptoms and are aged 16 and over you can request a FREE home test kit using the link below.
